Third Day-Los Cruces to Odessa (Texas) Pt. 1

With free wireless few and far between it's been difficult to post. Right now we're in Ft. Worth in a bar downtown because it's the only place where we can find access. Even Starbucks makes you sign up for ATT or something and the library doesn't have it. So this whole thing may have been a bad idea.

But, back to the road. We left Los Cruces around 10 ish and started out of town. Up until today the weather has been great, sunny and in the upper 70's. Stopped for lunch at Papa's Pantry which had decent Enchiladas and bad salad.

I actually had the salad. We decided it was not as good as we wanted so we dashed. The waitress chased us but we were quicker than she was and escaped by hiding underneath a bus. after a few minutes she gave up but called the sheriff. That's when things went downhill. He was all jelly donut stains and mirrored sunglasses coming at us down the 10 in his crown vic. After a few miles we had to pull off, we were attracting too much attention and when we saw the Kern Public School we knew our chance to ditch this pesky cop had come. We screeched to a stop in front and scrambled from the civic like the interior was on fire and ducked into the burned husk of the school. I can't say what happened next but let's just say three went in and only two came out.

Someone had finally gotten that mountain view they always wanted.

Next up: Sanddunes, Olde westy cowtowns, highway reststops and a rash that just won't go away.

Now we are getting some real dirt... I think you should dine and dash in every town you visit... of course, don't call me when you need to post bail. Keep up the excitement - remember I am a mom of two - I have to live vicariously through you two 1/2.
